The archive exists to preserve what would otherwise be misplaced, forgotten, or discarded. Journal entries, photographs, recordings, correspondence, and other personal effects are accepted in the condition they are received.
Materials are filed according to the motel's internal records system and may be relocated as additional documentation becomes available. Original chronology is not always preserved.
Nothing is removed from the archive once accessioned. Renovations may change where a record is kept, but never whether it is kept.
