New House Hunting
August 11th, 2026
At the end of November my lease will be up and while I initially planned to renew for another year, I will not be.
Instead the search for a new house has begun. It's both exciting and anxiety inducing because my partner and I have lived together once before. Theres still a lot we have to work on as far as our relationship: Dynamic structure, Work decompression routines, etc and they will soon be gone for an extended amount of time.
During that time I will focus on working as much as I can in order to save as much as possible before I move in. My partnerhas to finalize their housing decision sooner than me because their lease is up and they only have a small window before they leave for work to set up new housing arrangments. The hunt to find something that will work for both of us is time sensitive.
Finding a house that I'm comfortable in is a higher priority to me than being close to my job even though my preference is to be as close to work as possible. My job however is not set and I do move around at times and long term I have no idea where I'll be working once I get my real estate license. So that seems less important than getting the other things I value in a house. These are the things I've started my search with:
I have managed to find a few that I'm waiting for my parter to review and discuss their thoughts. We may possible begin viewings tomorrow if appointments can be set up.
